Our Journey

God has once again shown us His grace! Some of you may know, some may not, but we have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half. This has been a very difficult time for us, made more difficult by the added stress of planting a church. We have never been put in a place where we were so fully dependent on God. We found after months of trying and not getting pregnant, and testing that didn't give us any answers, we were left with only the faith that God would provide if He chose to. That was much easier said than done. We went through some dark months of discouragement but believe that God was using this time in our lives to grow us and draw us closer to Him. He brought us to a place where we had to say "God you do not owe us anything, we serve You, love You, and trust You and that is not dependent on gifts we receive" He is still sovereign and His will is still perfect even if it does not match ours. We found out I was pregnant at the end of November and were able to give our families the best Christmas present of all time! As of this posting I am 11 and a half weeks pregnant, due August 5th. We are beyond excited! We wanted to announce it to everyone all at once in this way because we want you all to know that it is not just about the end result (getting pregnant) but about the journey God has taken us on. We are once again in awe of His grace...giving us a free gift that we have done nothing to earn or deserve. Thank you for rejoicing with us as we rejoice. We plan on adding a pregnancy tracer on the blog so those that would like to can follow the progress as our baby grows and develops. Please keep us in your prayers!

This is so true. What a wonderful blog entry. This is all of us. When we are left with only faith, we are probably exactly where God wants us. I appreciate you and Matt and your walk with the Lord in this. You are right. We love God apart from the gifts that he gives us. We really do deserve nothing. How wonderful He is for providing for us in every area of our lives. He really provides for us the desires of our hearts as we trust in Him. I can't wait to meet this little guy. Praising God with you guys!
